Hotel Katowice is a true city landmark and one of the most recognizable buildings in the region. We completed a full reconstruction of the iconic neon sign installed on the hotel’s rooftop, recreating the entire installation at a 1:1 scale. The result is one of the largest neon projects in Poland — spatial letters of impressive size, made from hand-shaped glass tubing. We took care of every stage: the structural framework, installation insulation, and professional high-altitude assembly. The outcome is a refreshed, distinctive piece of signage visible from a great distance both day and night — a symbol that has once again become an important part of Katowice’s skyline.

The photo shows a worn fragment of the historic Hotel Katowice neon — cracked glass, corroded sheet metal, and a structure visibly weakened by time. Its condition clearly indicated the need for a full reconstruction. This very piece became the starting point for creating a new, durable, and visually striking version of the iconic neon.
Painting the letters required exceptional precision — the elements were very large and needed to be fully masked and secured before applying the paint. The workshop applied a double coating in the original, digitally matched shade of blue, ensuring long-lasting color durability and full resistance to weather conditions.

The reconstruction required reinforcing the structure, fully insulating the installation, and crafting the glass with precision by an experienced neon glassblower. The finished letters were equipped with dedicated mounting brackets, allowing for safe installation using a high-reach crane. The entire “Hotel Katowice” sign was perfectly leveled, securely anchored, and prepared for harsh weather conditions — ensuring durability for many years to come.
The video presents the entire project in a dynamic, condensed form — from the first structural works to the final installation of the neon on the hotel’s rooftop. It captures the essence of the process that brought back one of Katowice’s most recognizable symbols. Just a few dozen seconds showing the effort of many people and the moment when the iconic sign lit up the city skyline once again.
