We delivered large-scale, illuminated “CANADA” letters for Hockey Canada, which became the central feature of Ice Palazzo – the official space for Canadian athletes, their families, and guests during the Winter Olympic Games in Milan. This was not a decorative element. We created a spatial installation designed to operate under conditions of intensive use, changing light, and constant presence of visitors. The letters were built as a monumental, freestanding structure, calibrated to the scale of the interior and the dynamics of the event.
- The intense red ensured immediate recognition of national colors.
- Even illumination provided stable and clear visibility – both in direct perception and in photography.
- The scale and proportions were defined to ensure visibility from a distance, while also creating a coherent backdrop for close interaction and photos.

Natural meeting and photo point
At Ice Palazzo, the letters quickly became a natural stopping point – a place guests approached, took photos, and returned to throughout the event. The installation functioned as a “selfie zone”, but not as a predefined decorative feature. This resulted from design decisions: scale, readability, and placement within the space. The photos created around this installation were not accidental, but a direct outcome of signage that was intuitive and performed well in real event conditions.

Execution reliability
At Ice Palazzo, there is no room for on-site adjustments. The entire installation was prepared as a stable, freestanding structure, designed for intensive use. Every element – from the structure, through the lighting system, to finishing details – was engineered to ensure consistent performance without disruption throughout the event.

Official recommendation from Hockey Canada
After completion, we received an official recommendation from Hockey Canada. The project proved its value in real conditions – it attracted attention, was widely used by guests, and performed without issues throughout the entire event. This confirms that the installation not only looked right, but above all worked exactly as required for a space of this scale.
